"How did you get together?"
"Where did you get the idea to do a Bon Jovi Tribute?"

Both of these are questions often asked at Blaze of Glory shows. In this case, the answer was quite interesting to the guys in the band as well. The story goes beyond the familiar tale of those who say, "How about 'this' band?", followed by, "Yeah, what the hell...". In fact, this would be more of a "Perfect Storm" of circumstances, one could even say.

Separately, Trae, Wayne, Kenny and Roy Lee were all intrigued by the burgeoning local tribute band market. Separately, they all noticed that among the many great bands represented, no one had taken on the task of paying tribute to the Jersey Boys. Separately, they all placed ads in musicians' classifieds to find like-minded souls.

Aside from Wayne and Kenny (who had played together in one of the Dallas area's many cover bands), the guys didn't know of each other. Wayne placed his ad, looking for members to form a tribute to a "world-famous rock band, still topping charts", etc. So as to avoid stolen thunder, Wayne kept his ad intentionally vague. This led him to Trae's ad...

Trae had simply placed an ad stating, "Jon seeks Richie, Tico, David and Alec for a Bon Jovi tribute". Wayne responded.

After some discussion, they confirmed that they were all fans of Bon Jovi's music, and discovered they had many of the same interests and ideas as to how a proper Bon Jovi tribute should be assembled. Soon after, they got together for a jam and discovered that they also gelled musically. Once this was established, they next set out to find a guitarist, and auditioned a few.

Somewhere around that time, Roy Lee had placed his ad to start a Bon Jovi tribute. Wayne quickly responded with, "We're the 'other' Bon Jovi band, and we need a guitarist...".

Several emails, a couple of phone calls and a group meeting revealed that they all had the same ideas and the same enthusiasm about the whole thing. After two subsequent auditions, the band had found their guitarist and Blaze of Glory was born.

What resulted is a band that is true-to-form in all respects. In a manner of speaking, Trae is Jon, Roy Lee is Richie, Wayne is Hugh, and Kenny is Tico.

The rest, as some say, is history...

So what you, the Blaze Of Glory fan, should know above all else is that you are watching a group of guys who love what they do. You are watching musicians who love the songs that they play. You are also watching a group of guys who, like you, are Bon Jovi fans.

They play each show with as much passion and enthusiasm as the last. They sing and play every note with all the soul they possess. They are fast and solid friends - brothers in arms even - and they're having a great time doing it all.

We sincerely hope this positive energy transcends the edge of the stage and inspires you to have a great time as well, and walk away having truly felt the Bon Jovi Experience!
